Peter Motteram, Chief Operating Officer

Peter has extensive experience in all types of clinical trials, having held senior positions at Quintiles and then at ClinTrials Research, where he had full responsibility for all clinical research services outside of the Americas. For the last 25 years Peter has been providing consulting services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies for the design and management of their clinical trials programmes. Peter has supported trials both inside and outside UK, including in oncology and GI disease. Peter holds an M.Sc. in Clinical Biochemistry for University of London

 


Rachel Craven, Chief Scientific Officer

Rachel has over 20 years’ research experience in the life science sector, largely focussing on the discovery and validation of disease biomarkers. She joins Origin from Biosignatures Ltd where she set up a lab generating high quality gel-based proteomics data for the development of molecular diagnostic tests. Prior to that she worked in the academic sector, most recently as an Associate Scientist/ Technical Specialist at the University of Leeds. Rachel has BA in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford and a PhD from the University of Manchester.

 

 

Jenny Searle, Office Manager / Administrator

Jenny supports the Origin team with a strong background in administration and excellent communication and organisation skills. Prior to joining Origin, Jenny was an Accounts Administrator with Vindis Sawston, a car dealership firm, where she worked for over ten years. During her time at Vindis Sawston, Jenny spent some time supporting a busy Sales team in an administrative capacity before moving to the Accounts role. Before this, Jenny worked for four years at AXA Insurance as a Team Administrator / Underwriter. Jenny is a qualified Nursery Nurse and spent two years at ABC Nursery before moving to a career in Administration and Office Management.

 

Martin Ellis, QARA Manager

Martin has joined the team with 26 years of an extensive multi-skilled career in Manufacture and Quality Management of analytical and medical instrumentation and an in-depth knowledge of supply chain management. Martin has used a high level of dedication focusing on delivering quality from outsourcing through to customer liaison. He is focused, goal orientated and brings many years of experience and knowledge to our company. Martin spent thirteen years at his previous company to which he achieved high standards in all areas of the business to which he was responsible. His previous roles have included Quality Manager, Quality Systems and Facilities Manager and Purchasing Manager.

 

Alison Hedley, Senior Development Scientist

Alison has a broad experience in the development, validation and application of biomarker assays.  In her previous research and development roles at Carclo Diagnostic Solutions and Genesis Diagnostics, Alison has worked with multiple assay formats including microfluidics and microarray, covering both point of care and diagnostic laboratory applications.  Alison also has experience in quality control and technical support for in vitro diagnostic assays and previously worked as a Biomedical Scientist in Immunology at the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.  Alison has an MPhil in Molecular Physiology from the University of Sheffield and a BSc(Hons) in Pharmacology from the University of Leeds.
